Melodee HanesMelodee Hanes is an Administration appointee who joined OJJDP in June 2009. At the time of her appointment, she served as the Special Counselor to the Administrator and was later named Acting Deputy Administrator for Policy. Ms. Hanes is a graduate of Drake University Law School and spent 16 years as a deputy county attorney in Des Moines, Iowa, and Billings, Montana. She primarily prosecuted child abuse, sexual assault, and homicide cases. Additionally, she has served as an adjunct professor of law at Drake University, where she taught "Child Abuse Law" and "Forensic Medicine and Law." She has lectured extensively and published in these areas of expertise.
